This Old Church - is performed to help raise money for a major renovation or new building project for a church. Students will remember your lesson every time they hear the song or they will remember your keywords by thinking back about that song. Skits can be a part of assemblies, meetings, organized events or other classroom instruction. Numerous resources and Web sites provide tips and activities for helping students reflect upon social justice issues in the classroom.

Sometimes I have them figure it out without talking! Each fish has the name of a song or finger play. After you write your first draft, read it out loud to your group, assigning each person a character. Dressing up as recognizable characters or celebrities is also entertaining and good material for your show. For example, the teachers could act out a quest for a particular item or journey to a certain location.

Not just the basics, like where they live or if they have a brother, but real stories and anecdotes. Read books with black characters in honor of the young hero Marley Dias. Dias is a young activist who started the blackgirlbooks campaign as a sixth-grader. Though you may like a line or joke, it may not work in your skit. The third order is by far the most outlandish order. Have students list their differences as well as similarities.
